Rajasthan Government Aims to Establish India’s Next Data Centre Powerhouse!

The Rajasthan government has unveiled plans to develop a dedicated township for data centres, positioning the state as a key player in supporting the rising demand for artificial intelligence (AI) applications. This initiative underscores Rajasthan’s commitment to leveraging its infrastructure and sustainability features to become a global AI innovation hub.

The proposed township is expected to be located near the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, offering seamless connectivity to major commercial hubs and airports in Delhi and Jaipur. This strategic positioning will attract investments and enhance the efficiency of data centre operations, making Rajasthan an attractive destination for global and domestic players in the AI and data industries.

With an impressive renewable energy capacity of 29.98 GW, Rajasthan is well-equipped to support green data centre operations. The state’s existing infrastructure, including the Bhamashah Data Centre in Jaipur, demonstrates its potential to meet the energy and operational demands of data-driven technologies sustainably.

During the Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized the importance of integrating the state’s sustainable energy capabilities with the data centre initiative. He expressed confidence in Rajasthan’s ability to evolve into a global AI hub, highlighting the unique synergy between sustainability and technology development.
