United Grinding North America has been named an Apprenticeship Ambassador by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), acknowledging the company’s commitment to advancing workforce development through innovative apprenticeship programs. As an Apprenticeship Ambassador, United Grinding will actively promote apprenticeship initiatives by sponsoring training activities, reaching out to underrepresented communities, and launching new apprenticeship programs. United Grinding’s Apprenticeship Program, launched in July 2023, uses a hybrid model to provide apprentices with both hands-on experience and a robust academic foundation. Apprentices gain practical skills by working with advanced machinery at the company’s facilities, ensuring they are well-equipped for modern manufacturing challenges. Simultaneously, they pursue an associate degree in Automation and Control Technology with Robotics (Mechatronics), fully funded by United Grinding, at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio.
