Honda Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned Honda subsidiary in China, has announced the start…
Royal Enfield, a division of Eicher Motors, has expanded its international footprint by commencing operations at a state-of-the-art Completely Knocked-Down (CKD) assembly plant in Thailand. This strategic move underscores the company’s commitment to high-growth markets and its focus on meeting the rising global demand for mid-segment motorcycles.
The Thailand facility, Royal Enfield’s sixth CKD unit globally, follows similar facilities in Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Bangladesh, and Nepal. With an annual production capacity of over 30,000 units, the plant will initially cater to the Thai market, with plans to support neighboring regions in subsequent phases. This expansion aligns with Royal Enfield’s strategy to localize production and enhance delivery efficiency, ensuring quicker access to motorcycles for customers in Southeast Asia.
Speaking on the development, B Govindarajan, CEO of Royal Enfield, stated:
“This new facility reflects our vision of investing in markets with significant growth potential. It reaffirms our commitment to establishing a strong presence in Thailand and the broader region.”
Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Chief Commercial Officer, added:
“This plant will enable us to grow the mid-segment motorcycle market in Thailand and efficiently address rising demand across the region.”
The Thailand facility is designed to support Royal Enfield’s long-term goal of dominating the mid-sized motorcycle segment. By focusing on operational efficiency and accessibility, the company aims to strengthen its position in emerging markets while delivering premium-quality motorcycles to enthusiasts worldwide. This expansion not only reinforces Royal Enfield’s global footprint but also reflects its unwavering dedication to innovation and customer satisfaction.
