Walter Unveils New Turning Toolholder with Enhanced Coolant Connection for Improved Tool Life and Chip Control!

Walter USA has introduced the Walter Turn toolholder with a flexible coolant system and screw clamping, specifically designed to improve tool life and optimize chip control. Featuring rake-face cooling to assist with chip breaking and control, and double flank-face cooling directly at the cutting edge, this toolholder enhances precision cooling and reduces wear, helping manufacturers achieve greater efficiency and productivity.

The Walter Turn toolholder’s advanced coolant system allows users to apply pressures from 145 to 2,175 psi (10-150 bar), with optimal chip breaking starting at pressures over 580 psi (40 bar). Precise coolant delivery not only ensures effective chip control but also extends tool life by 30-150%, depending on the application.

Equipped with a flexible coolant connection, users can connect coolant directly to a VDI tool adapter (A21XX-P) or use a coolant hose with a G1/8″ thread (K601), allowing for universal adjustments. This flexibility simplifies setup and eliminates manual adjustments, leading to improved machine uptime and operational ease.

By providing consistent and targeted coolant flow, the Walter Turn toolholder enables higher cutting speeds and produces shorter, more manageable chips. With these enhancements, operators can expect smoother processes and more reliable outcomes in precision turning applications, as well as reduced downtime due to improved machine availability.
