Hypertherm Associates and BLM Group have entered into a strategic partnership designed to broaden the market…
Engineering Technology Associates, Inc. (ETA) has announced the launch of Dynaform 7.2, the latest version of its industry-leading sheet metal forming simulation software. Building upon the strengths of its predecessor, Dynaform 7.1, this new release introduces an array of powerful features and enhancements aimed at improving the efficiency and precision of metal forming processes. Designed to serve industries such as automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing, Dynaform 7.2 represents a significant step forward in ETA’s mission to provide engineers and manufacturers with cutting-edge tools for optimizing die system processes.
Dynaform 7.2 introduces several key enhancements, including improvements in Blank Size Engineering (BSE), Die Face Design (DFD), Formability Simulation (FS), and Tube Bending & Forming (TBF). The BSE module now delivers better nesting results, allowing users to increase material utilization rates and reduce waste. In the DFD module, new functionalities like Auto CAM and Trim Segment have been added, making it easier to perform multistage die face design operations with greater flexibility. These features streamline tool design processes, such as trimming and flange modification, making them more intuitive and efficient.
At the core of Dynaform 7.2 is the enhanced Sigform solver, which continues to offer highly accurate and rapid simulations of multistage metal forming. This latest version of the solver is even more precise, enabling users to simulate complex forming conditions with greater confidence. Additionally, the Die Structural Integrity (DSI) module has been further refined to provide dynamic insights into the mechanical performance, load-bearing capacity, and stress points of die structures. This ensures that users can thoroughly analyze and optimize die systems for durability and performance under real-world conditions.
Dynaform 7.2 also introduces several new capabilities within the Formability Simulation (FS) module. The new clamping springback feature allows for the accurate measurement of springback using pads, pilot pins, and clamps, which results in improved simulation accuracy during sequential closing operations. For industries working with high-strength steel, Dynaform 7.2 offers a user-friendly interface for hot forming simulations, allowing for seamless modeling of stages from gravity and forming to cooling and hardening. Moreover, the sheet drop test feature simulates part deformations during production, ensuring dimensional accuracy for components in applications like automotive manufacturing.
“We are thrilled to unveil Dynaform 7.2, a significant leap forward in sheet metal forming simulation technology,” said Dr. Shan Nageswaran, CTO of ETA Inc. “This latest release builds on the success of its predecessor, offering a broader range of features and enhancements that will empower engineers to optimize their processes and achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency and precision.” Dr. Shan also emphasized that Dynaform 7.2 underscores ETA’s ongoing commitment to providing industry-leading solutions that drive innovation and productivity across the manufacturing sector.
With its enhanced capabilities, Dynaform 7.2 sets a new standard for sheet metal forming simulations, helping users reduce production time, minimize errors, and increase profitability. Whether in automotive, aerospace, or other industrial applications, this latest release is poised to redefine productivity and performance standards in the die-making process, offering a more integrated and efficient solution to the challenges of metal forming.
