Chiron Group Redefines Machine Tool Showcases with Virtual Showroom and Live Demos at IMTS 2024!

At IMTS 2024, Chiron Group made waves with its unique approach to showcasing its latest machine tools. Combining live demonstrations and a cutting-edge virtual showroom, Chiron provided attendees with an unparalleled experience in exploring advanced machining technology.

The Micro5, one of the most compact five-axis machines on display, stands out for its 60,000 RPM spindle speed and its tiny footprint of just one square meter. This makes it ideal for high-precision applications in sectors like medical devices, watchmaking, and jewelry. Simon Knecht, VP of Sales and Marketing at Chiron America, emphasized that the Micro5 might be the smallest five-axis machine at the entire show, underlining its significance for micro-machining applications.

Chiron also featured the Mill 2000, a versatile vertical machining center designed for five-axis machining with a spindle speed of up to 20,000 RPM. The Mill 2000 is engineered for large-scale precision manufacturing, excelling in dynamic machining processes that require both high productivity and precision, making it an essential tool for industries like aerospace and automotive.

However, what truly sets Chiron apart at IMTS is its innovative use of a virtual showroom. Attendees can interact with Chiron’s entire product line via advanced 3D technology, allowing them to configure machines and even project life-sized versions onto the show floor using Apple devices. This approach not only reduces logistical challenges but also allows customers to explore machines in a customized, user-friendly way. The virtual showroom is an integral part of Chiron’s focus on customer-centric solutions, enabling clients to visualize how different configurations of Chiron’s modular machines could meet their specific production requirements.

This hybrid approach — a mix of live demos and digital interactivity — reflects Chiron’s commitment to innovation and adaptability. By offering visitors the flexibility to explore, interact, and customize their machines digitally, Chiron is pushing the envelope on how industrial equipment is presented at trade shows.

Knecht noted that the virtual showroom was developed in response to customer feedback, underscoring the company’s mission to provide flexible, accessible solutions that cater to diverse industry needs. From micro-machining to large-scale industrial applications, Chiron’s IMTS 2024 presence allows each visitor to find a tailored solution, demonstrating how the company’s machines are equipped to meet a wide variety of manufacturing challenges.

This approach aligns with Chiron’s broader strategy of blending physical demonstrations with digital innovation, ensuring that clients get a comprehensive view of what’s possible with Chiron’s advanced machining tools.
