Walter USA has boldly acquired PDQ Workholding LLC, a leader in workholding fixtures and tooling based in Columbia City, Indiana. This acquisition is set to significantly enhance Walter’s offering of workholding products, particularly in the Americas while providing a strategic advantage in securing early access to component projects—paving the way for increased cutting tool sales.
This acquisition not only boosts Walter’s capabilities in advanced machining solutions and lightweight materials but also strengthens their exposure to aluminum machining applications and deepens partnerships with Machine Tool Builders in a key region.
“When customers embark on designing new products or components, fixtures are procured first, giving PDQ an early edge in new projects,” says Christoph Geigges, President of Walter USA. “Having PDQ as part of our portfolio enhances our business opportunities in the Americas and strengthens our value proposition to customers.”
PDQ, a leader in custom stationary, hydraulic, and automated fixtures, along with indexable tool bodies and carbide round tools, boasts a robust customer base with 80% of sales within the U.S. and the rest spread across Mexico, Canada, Argentina, Switzerland, Thailand, and South Africa. By integrating PDQ into its portfolio, Walter is poised to provide even greater support to industries like aviation, aerospace, automotive, energy, and general metalworking, helping customers boost process reliability and productivity. Walter continues to lead the way in digital process solutions and the implementation of Industry 4.0 within the machining industry.
