TRAK Machine Tools has introduced two new compact lathes, the TC2 and the TC820si, designed to deliver robust performance within a minimal footprint. These lathes are tailored for production applications where space is at a premium but the demand for heavy-duty performance is high. Both models will be featured at the upcoming IMTS 2024, where attendees can witness their capabilities firsthand.
The TRAK TC2 lathe is an exemplary model of compact design without sacrificing performance. Occupying a mere 80″ × 37″ of floor space, it delivers cutting capacities of up to 8″ in diameter and 11″ in length. Weighing in at 3,100 lbs and powered by a 7.5-hp motor, the TC2 can handle heavy cuts with precision and stability. Its design ensures that it maintains high performance even when placed in tight or constrained workshop environments.
The TC820si lathe builds on the compact yet powerful tradition of TRAK Machine Tools. With a small footprint, it offers a generous maximum turned diameter of 8.66″ and a maximum turned length of 20″. This model is constructed with solid casting for vibration absorption and rigidity, ensuring smooth and accurate operations even under demanding conditions. The TC820si includes a hydraulic 3-jaw chuck for enhanced grip and precision during machining.
Both lathes are equipped with advanced features to support modern machining needs. Precision ground ballscrews and guarding on all axes protect the internal components, ensuring longevity and reliability. The integration of these features means that the lathes can perform multiple tasks such as drilling, reaming, tapping, and boring with high efficiency and accuracy.
One of the standout aspects of these lathes is their ability to enhance production efficiency. By minimizing idle time and maximizing operational uptime, the TC2 and TC820si ensure that production runs are smooth and continuous. This efficiency is crucial for manufacturers looking to maintain high output without compromising on the quality of the finished products.
TRAK Machine Tools also emphasizes sustainability in their design. The compact nature of the TC2 and TC820si means reduced energy consumption and operational costs. Their robust construction and efficient use of power make them not only effective but also environmentally responsible choices for modern manufacturing facilities.
Attendees of IMTS 2024 will have the opportunity to see these innovative lathes in action. TRAK Machine Tools will be showcasing the TC2 and TC820si, providing demonstrations of their capabilities and offering insights into how these machines can be integrated into various production environments to enhance efficiency and output.
