Waldmössingen, 25.05.2023. Kai Pieronczyk is the new Commercial Managing Director of Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH (SW), the market leader for multi-spindle CNC machining centers based in Waldmössingen. He took over in April 2023 from Markus Schmolz, who left at the end of 2022 after 21 years with the company. In his new role at SW, Pieronczyk will focus on the company’s growing international operations.
With growth comes change, especially if entire process chains and structures have to be fundamentally reviewed as part of economic expansion. It is now Kai Pieronczyk’s role to reinforce SW’s global market position. “It’s key to have first-hand contacts in the respective country – from logistics to sales and after-sales service,” explains Pieronczyk. “This requires personal relationships, local networks and a reliable range of services locally.”
Kai Pieronczyk looks back on many years of experience in the areas of finance & controlling, information technology, purchasing and purchasing optimization as well as supply chain management, especially in Asia. The 39-year-old business graduate previously served as head of overall commercial management at the Chinese site of a German automotive supplier. With his experience in the Asian market, Mr. Pieronczyk feels right at home at his new employer. SW is currently putting out more feelers in the Asian region and in North America and Mexico, as the company intends to further expand its position as a leading producer of intelligent manufacturing solutions, especially for large components in the field of electromobility.
We have exciting challenges ahead of us: Above all, topics such as sustainability, digitization and the standardization, harmonization and automation of processes will continue to play an important role in the coming years,” says Pieronczyk, reflecting on his new area of responsibility. Going forward, he plans to focus especially on ensuring seamless supply chain management processes at SW. In times of global dependencies and temporary supply bottlenecks, it takes a strategic and careful approach to manage these demands with the necessary flexibility, Pieronczyk says. But SW is well equipped for the tasks ahead, he adds: “I see great potential and, of course, the right level of expertise at SW to ensure that we remain a strong partner in metal-cutting manufacturing in the future – both in Germany and internationally.
