With the opening of a new plant in Querétaro, Mexico, Bosch Rexroth expands manufacturing capacity for North America’s growing markets of mobile hydraulics and factory automation while also shortening delivery routes. The company will invest approximately 160 million euros at the new location and create approximately 900 employees by 2027. The goal is to strengthen local production for the North American factory automation and hydraulics sector in order to better serve clients in the future.
In June, Bosch Rexroth began manufacturing hydraulic pumps, motors, and valves for mobile gear such as excavators, forklifts, and tractors at its 42,000-square-meter plant in Querétaro. The company is preparing to build up hydraulic components and linear motion technology products. Additional items for mobile machinery (transmission units, radial piston motors) as well as linear motion technology products (rails, runner blocks) for applications in mechanical and plant engineering as well as factory automation are planned. Overall, industry experts anticipate robust growth in the mobile machinery and factory automation markets, particularly in North America.
“With its local-for-local strategy, Bosch Rexroth increases the capacity, flexibility, and robustness of supply chains, reduces CO2 footprint by regionally manufactured products, and achieves shorter delivery times,” emphasises Reinhard Schaefer, Member of the Management Board of Bosch Rexroth with responsibility for manufacturing and quality. In addition to its existing North American supplier base, Bosch Rexroth relies on a solid and expanding supplier network in Mexico, for example, for castings, machining, steel, drive shafts, or cylinders.
