Siemens, a global pioneer in additive manufacturing (AM) technology, is increasing its focus on AM efforts in the US to help speed the transformation of the US AM industry through serial additive manufacturing.
“We are on the verge of a new era in American industry, where the implementation of additive manufacturing will fundamentally alter the landscape from product to machine to manufacturing.” “Siemens is very excited to be at the forefront of this process,” said Steve Vosmik, Head of Siemens Additive Manufacturing in North America.
Siemens is committed to assisting the domestic AM machine maker community by providing motion control, automation hardware, digitalization software, and technology capabilities. Siemens will serve as an ecosystem platform for machine manufacturers, machine users, and additive design engineers from its Charlotte Advanced Technology Collaboration Hub (CATCH) in Charlotte, North Carolina.
“More than 100 machine builders from around the world are implementing Siemens automation solutions to industrialise their machines,” Rajas Sukthankar, Vice-President, Motion Control, Siemens Industry, Inc., states. “Now it’s time to support even more customers and accelerate their transition from single machines to series additive manufacturing factories,” he continues. This is the path that North America is taking.”
